How to Certify as a Safety Marshal AKA Safe Sport Certification

Safe Sport Certification, required for all Safety Marshalls, is taken on the USA Swimming website. You will need to go to

https://hub.usaswimming.org/landing

You will need to log-in or create an account for USA Swimming.

Once logged-in. Click Education (select Course Catalog from the drop down menu) then click the Safe Sport Icon

You will find the course link that looks like this:

Select this course and complete the Safe Sport Training. Make sure to click “submit” when you are done with your training.

Once you have completed the Safe Sport training, it will take several minutes for your certificate to appear, so have patience. You will receive an email once your certification has been approved.

You will need to download a copy of your Safe Sport Certificate to send to the RSL for verification. Return to the Education, Course Catalog screen and click View Transcript to see your certificate

Now return to the RSL Training Page (https://rsl.swimtopia.com/training) and click the hyperlink for 2026 Safe Sport Submission Form

You will fill out a google form with your information and select “Safety Marshall” for the position you are certifying for. Here you will attach a copy of your Safe Sport Certificate

This information will be reviewed by the RSL and they will let our team RSL Rep know if you have been officially Safe Sport Certified. Once this is verified, you will be eligible to work the position of Safety Marshal at our swim meets.
